Over quarantine, I decided it was time for a room makeover. The theme change made the perfect opportunity for some DIY projects. I decided on blush pink, rose gold, and marble for my rooms colors. However, marble furniture and decor can easily get pretty expensive, but there's quite a few ways to achieve the classy marble look without spending too much. The easiest way is marble contact paper. Most of the time, you can buy an entire roll under $10 that you can use for multiple projects, and it's extremely easy to use. Not to mention, you can buy it in all sorts of patterns for any project. Keep reading to find out how I used it to create a marble and rose gold clock!
What you will need:
- Marble contact paper
- Rose gold washi tape or paint
- Clock hands kit
- Square wooden plaque (with a hole in the center)
Steps:
- Apply contact paper to cover the front of your wooden plaque
- Create a hole in the contact paper to match up with the one in your plaque
- Apply washi tape or paint your clock hands in the color of your choice (optional)
- Following the instructions on your kit, screw your clock hands and mechanism into the clock, and you're done!
If your mechanism sticks out on the back of your clock, hanging the clock can be tricky. My mechanism did stick out a little, so I stuck a command strip to the back of the mechanism and it stuck to the wall perfectly.
