It’s that time of year again- back to school. With the back to school season comes shopping, re-connecting with friends, finishing summer assignments, and boring school supplies. But this year your supplies don’t have to be boring. In this post, I’ll be showing you a way to give your basic composition notebooks a complete makeover that can easily be customized with different patterns and colors.

Materials
  • Composition notebook
  • Rose Gold Washi tape
  • Marble contact paper
  • White acrylic paint
  • Ruler or something with a flat edge
The contact paper isn’t shown here, but you can buy a large roll at Home Depot or Lowes for under $10
Steps
  1. Paint both covers of your composition notebook white (two coats may be necessary, and you only need to do this if your contact paper is sheer)
  2. Measure two sheets of contact paper that will cover the cover of your notebook (doesn’t have to be exact, and it’s better to have extra)
  3. Once the paint is dry, peel one side/ corner of the contact paper (don’t peel the whole sheet at once, for it’s very sticky), and apply it to one side/ corner of your notebook
  4. Use your ruler or flat edge to smooth out the contact paper as you remove the backing slowly to prevent bubbles
  5. Cut off excess contact paper
  6. Repeat on the other side of the notebook
  7. Apply rose gold washi tape to the spine of the notebook
  8. Done!
